Our approach?
The Knotted Project are experts in delivering creative training & learning opportunities for young people across the UK, through a diverse and ever-changing engagement program.
Our main focus is to develop confidence and up-skill young people in a range of art forms, providing them with a creative toolkit. Groups that work with The Knotted Project then use this toolkit, to develop unique and authentic performance pieces and outcomes.
We aim to create ambitious & relevant work with young artists, inspiring each individual to embrace their passions, express themselves & share their voices through creativity.
We provide young creatives with the chance to establish artistic networks, collaborate, skill share & learn from each other. Our projects aim to develop a strong sense of growth, resilience & realisation of young people’s power & potential through creativity.
What makes us different?
In any project we deliver, we never know what the final outcome will look like: this is something that the young people themselves, will decide. We get excited by moving away from traditional approaches and instead, we focus on the development of original and authentic creative outcomes with young artists.
We embrace multiple art forms and through this, we aim to offer something to every individual, in every group. We encourage young people to act, to dance, to write, to direct; Whatever gets them excited!
We are particularly passionate about providing high-quality creative opportunities for young people in rural Cumbria. We strive to contribute to establishing a thriving creative community where we live, allowing young people to see that there are exciting creative opportunities on offer and they can develop as an emerging artist here.
