The Knotted Project Training Company is a high quality development program for aspiring young artists aged 16-25. Participants are treated as professionals in high intensity workshops & rehearsals.

Based in Cumbria, our ambition is to provide high quality, specialised arts training for young people in the North West of the UK at whatever stage they are at of their artistic career. The 2019 training company was made up of recent graduates, people half way through training at drama school, college students and local creatives.

We aim to help creative young people establish their own creative network, collaborate, skill share and learn from each other, embracing their talents. We want young people to see that there is a thriving creative community, that there are opportunities for them and that they are capable of generating their own creative projects & careers.

“It has affirmed that growth can happen at any age, for me. Put your ideas and creativity on the table. Be brave.” (Participant)

In Summer 2019, the program saw the company collaborate, network and devise with multiple artists across a broad range of art forms. After an intensive rehearsal period and devising process with TKP Directors, the program culminated in performances of the companies original outdoor work at Lakes Alive Festival to hundreds of members of the public.
