Co-Created Films

With Young People

We deliver co-creation film projects with young people so they can tell their own story, make a statement and express themselves creatively.

Life in 360°

Funded by Arts Council England, we developed and tested a new model of creative facilitation and digital engagement, producing four co-created films and an innovative VR experience with young people. Working with schools and community groups, we supported participants in creating films that reflect their lived experiences, collaborating with partners such as The Whitehaven Academy, Carer Support South Lakes, Furness Academy, Brewery Arts, Rose Hill, and Full of Noises.

The films co-created with young people are below.

Forge Festival Films

As part of Forge Festival, each year a creative film was co-created with young people in response to the festivals theme.

Rebuild the Future was co-created by The Knotted Project and young people taking part in Forge Festival 2024, in collaboration with filmmaker Nick Farrimond. This is young people’s creative response to the idea that throughout time in the past, present and future, humans’ connection to nature is changing and shifting… where will we end up?

‘The Future Fight’ was created by young people in the 2022 festival, in response to the Covid 19 Pandemic. It offers a powerful insight into the opinions and perspectives of young people of such a powerful issue.

Forge the Future was self-filmed by young people whilst isolating during the pandemic. The group used incredible ingenuity with improvised camera set ups of mobile phones stuck to ceilings and filming reflections in mirrors. We Co-Created this exclusively through zoom and couldn’t be more proud of what was produced, even when we were physically distanced from one another.
