About Us:
The Knotted Project

The Knotted Project create theatrical experiences and events,
with and for young people.

OUR VISION

Transform young people’s futures through the power of theatre

OUR MISSION

To make ambitious, dynamic and high quality theatrical experiences in unconventional spaces. We will start important conversations, reflecting on individual, societal and global issues, driven by the perspectives of young people.

WITH young people; We will co-create to share skills, empower them to tell their stories and inspire them to reimagine the future through physical theatre.

FOR young people; We will deliver exceptional productions, nurture talent and facilitate a dynamic engagement program, making creative futures accessible to all young people in Cumbria and beyond.

OUR VALUES

We Dream Big- Making moments that matter, exploring the future & igniting imagination

We Say Yes- Removing barriers, opening doors & making the impossible possible

We Care-  About people, our place & our projects, making quality experiences, open & accessible to all

We Don’t Stand Still- Problem solving, embracing change & seizing opportunity

We Collaborate- Celebrating diverse skills, people & experiences

We are proud to deliver a diverse program of work, from touring theatre productions to short films, interactive museum experiences to workshops in schools. Inspiring young people through creativity, is at the heart of everything we do.

With an ambition to inspire audiences and participants with our work, The Knotted Project was established in 2013 in Cumbria. Led by Simon and Natalie McElligott, The Knotted Project’s productions have since toured nationally, funded by Arts Council England and our engagement work has impacted thousands of young people across the UK.

Their unique skill lies in their ability to act as role-models for these young people, while still remaining ever attentive to what the young people they work with have to say.
