THE PROJECT

We are launching an ambitious theatre project that brings together early career artists and young people in Cumbria to co-create and perform an original, bold production, exploring the lived experiences of growing up in Copeland. Early career artists will work alongside TKP directors and local young people to devise a dynamic, authentic show. This production will then tour to Barrow-in-Furness, where a new group of young people will adapt it to tell their own stories, creating an ever- evolving touring model thats shifts with the people on stage. Alongside the artistic impact, the project develops local talent, offering meaningful career opportunities for emerging artists while strengthening partnerships between arts organisations, schools, and communities. By empowering young voices and nurturing creative talent, this project celebrates Cumbrian identity and contributes to a thriving creative community for young artists.

ADAPT is a FREE opportunity happening this summer in Frizington and Whitehaven. We need your ideas, your stories and your energy!

Join our young company to create a brand new theatre production and perform it alongside a professional cast at Rose Hill Theatre. 

If you love performing and have loads of experience- great! If you have never had the opportunity but would love to develop skills and have the chance to perform- Also great! ADAPT is for any young people who are passionate about telling stories and working as a team to create something brilliant together!

Monday 3rd August-Wednesday 5th August 10am-4pm (Frizington)

Monday 10th August-Wednesday 12th August 10am-4pm (Rose Hill Theatre, Whitehaven)

Friday 14th August- Dress Rehearsal 10am-4pm (Rose Hill Theatre, Whitehaven)

Saturday 15th August- Performance day 2pm-8pm (Rose Hill Theatre, Whitehaven)

If you are unavailable for some rehearsals please let us know in the application form. However the dress rehearsal and performance days on 14th and 15th August are essential.

All young people will need full permission from a parent or carer before applying
