ADAPT

With Young People

A bold new theatre project empowering young voices, nurturing emerging talent and building Cumbrian creative futures.

We’re empowering young people in Cumbria to tell their own stories through theatre, working alongside emerging local artists to co-create an original theatre production.

THE PROJECT

We are launching an ambitious theatre project that brings together early career artists and young people in Cumbria to co-create and perform an original, bold production, exploring the lived experiences of growing up in Copeland. Early career artists will work alongside TKP directors and local young people to devise a dynamic, authentic show. This production will then tour to Barrow-in-Furness, where a new group of young people will adapt it to tell their own stories, creating an ever- evolving touring model thats shifts with the people on stage. Alongside the artistic impact, the project develops local talent, offering meaningful career opportunities for emerging artists while strengthening partnerships between arts organisations, schools, and communities. By empowering young voices and nurturing creative talent, this project celebrates Cumbrian identity and contributes to a thriving creative community for young artists.

Supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England.

We are extremely grateful to our partners who have helped support this ambitious new project.
